We’ve written previously about the best flowers to give to a man (if you’d like to read it, here’s the article), and here we are with perhaps the most appropriate occasion coming up. Father’s Day is, in the United States and many (but not all) countries around the world, June 20th this year; a day for us to honor and celebrate the male parents in our families.
You may have noticed already the stores filling up with signs for “Dads and Grads” merchandise; consumer electronics and power tools always seem to be promoted strongly at this time of year. After all – and I write here as a man and a father – who doesn’t need just one more gadget or doohicky, or that one power tool you don’t have, and may never use, but feel deserves a place in your tool cabinet? I know I do.
But as a father, what’s meant more to me is the time I’ve spent with my family, and especially the unique things sought out for me. Like father’s the world over, I’m often moved to tears by the things that have been made for me, and I treasure them greatly. So this year, I’m suggesting you find a card with a heart-felt message within, and write something special to your Dad about how much he means to you, and thank him for one or two particularly strong memories you have of when he was realy present and there for you. And get Dad something that really speaks to how much you appreciate him. Have a beautiful bouquet of flowers delivered directly to his door from our recommended florist; fresh, fast, great quality, cheaper than FTD.com, and super-easy ordering. Show your father just how grateful you are for everything he’s done for you with the For All You Do bouquet.
You can, of course, still give Dad an electronic doohicky, but I can guarantee that every time he looks at your flower gift, he’s going to feel a rush of love and appreciation for you. And isn’t that the kind of gift you could give to yourself?
Happy Father’s Day, all you fathers out there.
