Flowers for Father’s Day

Share the flowers!

Father’s Day is June 17th this year, which means it is right around the corner! Flowers for Father’s Day are a great way to surprise Dad and show him how much you appreciate all that he does for you throughout the day. When we think of sending flowers we typically think of feminine colors such as pink and purple, but there are plenty of options for dads that won’t leave them wondering what you were thinking when you picked out the arrangement. Plants are an excellent option for Father’s Day and a great way to spruce up his office or the home. Here are a few of our favorite options:

The Bonsai Tree

Bonsai trees, such as this Dwarf Jade Bonsai tree, are a fantastic way to honor Dad. Bonsai is a form of Japanese art that uses mini-trees growing in containers. When the cutting or seedling intended to become the bonsai is planted, it is then contintinously cut and shaped to stay small. Once it reaches the perfect size, it is replanted in a display pot intended specifically for bonsai trees. This pot restricts further growth of the tree and it is further maintained throughout the year. A bonsai is created beginning with a specimen of source material. This may be a cutting, seedling, or small tree of a species suitable for bonsai development.

The Window Box

Spruce up Dad’s office with this sleek window arrangement, elegantly featured in an orange metal window box. Featuring an orange oncidium orchid plant, nestled among ivy fittonia and calathea plants, this window box arrangement will have a calming effect on all who see it. If Dad doesn’t have a window in his work space, no problem, this would look stunning displayed on a desk, table or book shelf.

There are some great arrangements to get for Dad and remember, “sending flowers” does not have to mean actually sending flowers! There are plenty of beautiful plants out there!
